2520 McElderry Street is located in the McElderry Park neighborhood in east Baltimore City, and is part of the East Monument National Historic District. McElderry Park has seen increased attention over the last several years based on the significant development projects surrounding  Johns Hopkins Hospital, the East Baltimore Development, Inc. (EBDI) initiatives and continuous development in the neighborhoods to the south. Johns Hopkins Hospital, EBDI and numerous partner organizations have fostered the construction of massive hospital buildings, new apartment complexes, new retail businesses and the renovation of large amounts of existing homes. Plans for the Baltimore Food Enterprise Center and the Science and Technology Park at Johns Hopkins are also moving forward, which offer exciting entrepreneurship and employment opportunities. The Patterson Place and Patterson Park neighborhoods immediately to the south have seen large numbers of renovations of the existing historic homes. Patterson Park, a hub of recreation and community involvement in southeast Baltimore, is within walking distance.
