1315 Idylwood Road is located west of Reisterstown Road and south of Old Court Road, near Sudbrook Park, in the Pikesville area of western Baltimore County.  Neighborhood homes are detached single-family residences, constructed in the late 1950s and 1960s.  Many have been expanded and most have been well maintained.

Gwynvale Park borders the neighborhood.  According to the Baltimore County web site, nearby public schools are Millbrook Elementary, Pikesville Middle and Pikesville High.  The Old Court Road Metro Subway station is within walking distance.  Access to the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) Exit 20 is about two miles away.  The neighborhood feels secluded, yet its location is very convenient to shopping and area employment centers.
