LOCATION:
801 N. Arlington Avenue, known as the Sellers' Mansion, faces the east side of Lafayette Square Park in the Harlem Park neighborhood in west Baltimore City. The Second Empire style home constructed in 1868-1869 harkens back to the era when Matthew Bacon Sellers, Sr. commissioned the structure. The home is featured on the National Register of Historic Places. Throughout the last 150 years, the home has been the subject of countless magazine articles, newspaper stories and neighborhood discussions. A recent Baltimore Sun article by Jacques Kelley helps provide further background on the home's history, as well as the hope for the property's future. The auction offers an opportunity to transform that hope into reality.
